1BUDDHISM 3rd New Moon & Full Moon Uposatha Day~ 8 Precepts Transmission (20/04/2023-Thursday & 04/05/2023-Thursday)

  • Objectives

  • To enable lay practitioners to experience the life of a Monastic for minimally 1 Day and Night during which, they intensify and deepen their practice of mindfulness of the Triple Gems, moral conduct (sila) and meditative concentration, and uphold the Arhant / Tathagata’s virtues for future Nibbanic bliss and Buddhahood. 


    The world and world-transcending merits and blessings generated from the practice will be dedicated to:
  • i. the COVID-19 virus, those who are recovering from, and those who had succumbed to, the infection;
  • ii. victims of the war and earthquake;
  • iii. world peace and rapid recovery of the world’s economies;
  • iv. liberation of our deceased ancestors and loved ones; and
  • v. prolongation of the Buddha’s Sasana.

SPRING LIVE LECTURES – SHINGON VAJYRAYĀNA OF KOBO DAISHI


Do you find Vajrayana Buddhism mysterious? Do you find their elaborate rituals amazing and wonder what they mean? Well, wonder no more! We will soon unveil to you, the ‘mysteries’ behind Vajrayana Buddhism which has its origin in Tang Esoteric Buddhism, a tradition that has generally disappeared from prominence for more than 1,200 years.


1Buddhism, in collaboration with the Japan-Malaysia Shingon Vajrayāna Buddhism International Exchange, will present the Spring Live Series of lectures on “Shingon Vajrayāna of Kobo Daishi”. Three qualified Shingon Acaryas hailing from Japan (including our respectable Venerable Acarya Hong Bok) have been invited to speak on the subject in April and May 2022. The lectures are open to all who are interested in getting a broad appreciation of the features, beliefs and practices of Shingon Vajrayāna Buddhism. Presentations will be bilingual, in both English and Mandarin. Please join us on:

 
a) 20 to 23 April 2022 – every evening from 8 to 9pm; and
b) 17 to 21 May 2022 – every evening from 8 to 9pm.

99-Day Preliminary Practices Program 2022 (1BPPP_2022) 16/04/2022 – 23/07/2022

INTRODUCTION:

1. The Preliminary Practices Program (PPP) is one of many programs in 1BUDDHISM’s structured cultivation system which emphasizes both theoretical understanding and practical experiences. It is a pre-requisite for students who wish to enrol in 1BUDDHISM’s Meditation programs, such as the Samatha Beginner Program (1BSBP), to have gone through and passed the PPP.

2. Both the PPP and Meditation programs are open for enrolment ONCE a year only.

3. The PPP for 2022 is now open for enrolment. Detailed information on the PPP is found in the online registration form. Please read the information carefully.
